Pop in Space: We Choose to go to The Moon

Is mixed multimedia exhibition displaying, illustration, paintings, lithographs, acrylics and screen prints by an array of different artists. Such as Eduardo Paolozzi, Gerald Laing, David Lamelas and Kiki Kogelnk. The various pieces interpret the colourful, glamorous and exciting aspects of Space through the eyes of the artist showcasing both retro and modern looking artworks from the 1960’s and 1970’s.

There are televisions showing 16 mm films which have been transferred into DVD that you can observe. One of the broadcasts is of President John F Kennedy at Rice University on 12th September 1962 at Cape Canaveral. Kennedy talks about the growth, potential employment and the new frontier of space exploration in America in the 1960’s, and advocates how the U.S were the first nation to send a man to the moon. There are different art mediums to grab your attention so take a visit to Space Pop History.
